DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, insurance and services to install new HVAC system, electrical service upgrade, door infill and replacement and mechanical piping alterations to accommodate new Cage Wash machine. A/C unit, Switchgear and Tunnel Cage Wash furnished by University.
FEDERAL REQUIREMENTS - AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT (ARRA) OF 2009. Work performed under this Contract will be funded with funds appropriated by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, Pub. L, 111-5, (ARRA, Recovery Act, or Act). Project Description: The project is a $15 million dollar renovation of 98,000 sf and 12 stories of a high rise mixed use building. Work includes construction of three floors of commercial space, and 9 floors of renovation to 108 senior apartments for the SHRA.
Project Schedule: This project is scheduled for a September 2010 start and September 2011 completion.
Prequalification: Prequalification is based on a PASS/FAIL criteria. Subcontractors must meet all of the following criteria in order to Pass prequalification:
1. Valid Contractor’s license for the scope of work that Subcontractor is bidding.
2. Subcontractor, any owners or officers of the company are not nor have ever been debarred, suspended or otherwise
excluded from receiving Federal, state or public work contracts.
3. Three previous projects in the last 5 years of the same scope of work, i.e. bidding painting work – need 3 projects in
which Subcontractor performed painting work.
4. Two of the above previous projects with an original contract amount that meets or exceeds the trade’s volume for
this project.
5. Financial Information must meet the following ratios:
Current Ratio (Current Assess/Current Liabilities) >or =1.5
Leverage (Total Liability/Equity) <or=2.5
Working Capital Turnover (Volume/Working Capital) <or = 12
6. Safety Information EMR must be 1.0 or less
7. Subcontractor can provide insurance per the minimums noted in Attachment D.

Minimum experience requirement includes two (2) projects completed in the past five years (from date of this document) with a contract value equal or greater than that noted below for your work. Projects submitted must include: residential multi-family with a min. of 50 units, high rise life safety, and must have been a design/build contract where the subcontractor’s engineer produced the permit documents. Provide photos and information demonstrating these items on each relevant project including name of project, address, owner, GC, architect, completion date, and value of contract.
Minimum Value of each project submitted by Trade:

Contractor is required to pay the higher wage determined by either the State Prevailing Wage or Davis Bacon . The Contractor agrees to comply with all provisions of California Labor Code Sections 1771, 1775, 1776, 1777.5, 1813, and 1815 and Davis Bacon Act.
This contract is subject to the Buy American requirements of Section 1605 of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA); whereby, “all of the iron, steel, and manufactured goods used in the project are domestic.” This contract is also subject to Section 1606 of the ARRA requiring the payment of prevailing wages in accordance with the Davis-Bacon Act.
